REE incrementa hasta el 35% la producción eléctrica con renovables
Así aparece en la memoria Ambiental 2010 de Red Eléctrica, este año sólo en formato electrónico, como parte de las medidas de «reducción de impacto ambiental» de la empresa.
El Centro de control de renovables (CECRE) de la red cuenta, según el informe, con «aplicación de nuevas funcionalidades y herramientas de operación» que dan «mayor visibilidad» a estas energías, incrementan la potencia de gestión y maximizan su integración en el sistema eléctrico.
Este hecho contribuyó a que en el 2010 el 35% de la producción eléctrica haya sido de origen renovable, destacando con un 16% la energía eólica, lo que ha dado lugar a una reducción del 21% de las emisiones de CO2 derivadas de la generación de electricidad, respecto a 2009, añadió el documento.
Resaltó el «esfuerzo inversor» en estructuras que dotan la Red con capacidad de evacuar las renovables, en función de las cambiantes condiciones meteorológicas, y compensar su inclusión en el flujo eléctrico de forma segura.
La memoria destacó además la aprobación de una nueva edición de «la política ambiental» que compromete a Red Eléctrica con un modelo energético «más sostenible», con mayor presencia de energías procedentes de tecnologías renovables, contra el cambio climático y a favor de la eficiencia energética.
En 2010, el grado de cumplimiento del programa ambiental aumentó hasta el 71%, con respecto al año anterior, y se señaló la interconexión eléctrica entre la península y las islas Baleares como «el proyecto en ejecución de mayor relevancia ambiental en cuanto a las medidas preventivas y correctoras».
La Memoria, presentada por Luis Atienza, presidente de Red Eléctrica, apuntó la reducción del consumo eléctrico en la sede social de la empresa, en consumo de combustible de sus vehículos, consumo de papel y de agua.
Con horizonte 2020 y en línea con las políticas de la Unión Europea, Red Eléctrica se propone la reducción de las emisiones contaminantes en un 20%, integrar las energías renovables hasta el 20% del consumo propio en edificios y ahorrar el 20% del consumo energético propio en edificios por implantación de medidas de eficiencia.
Sobre sanciones por incumplimiento de normas ambientales, Red Eléctrica declaró que pagó 6.154 euros durante el pasado curso, por incendio por descarga de línea (4.804 euros), obstrucción de cauces (300 euros) y potencial contaminación de suelos (1.050 euros).
La memoria registró, además, 22 accidentes por fugas de aceites e hidrocarburos durante actividades de construcción o mantenimiento en 2010.
