En España, el precio medio de la electricidad para uso doméstico por 100 kilovatios hora se sitúa en 18,51 euros y sube hasta 20,04 euros si se tiene en cuenta el poder de compra, por encima de la media de la Unión Europea (17,08 euros).
Además, entre el segundo semestre de 2009 y el segundo semestre de 2010 las tarifas subieron un 9,9%, frente al 5,1% en la Unión Europea. Este incremento se suma al alza del 8,2% entre el segundo semestre de 2008 y el segundo semestre de 2009, frente a una caída del 2,3% en la Unión Europea.
Según datos de Eurostat, en el citado periodo los mayores encarecimientos de la electricidad se dieron en Lituania (+31,3%), Chipre (+23,1%), Grecia (+17,3%), Noruega (+14%) y Malta (+12,4%), mientras que los mayores descensos fueron los de Holanda (-7,9%), Luxemburgo (-7%) e Italia y la República Checa (-4% en los dos casos).
Respecto a los países donde la electricidad para los hogares es más cara son Dinamarca (27,1 euros por 100 kWH), Alemania (24,4), Chipre (20,2) y Bélgica (19,7), mientras que en el extremo contrario se sitúan Bulgaria (8,3), Estonia (10), Letonia y Rumanía (10,5 cada uno).
En España, el precio de la luz subió un 9,9%, es decir, 4,8 puntos porcentuales por encima de la media y en niveles similares a los de Estonia (+9,1%) y Rumanía (+8,1%).
Por lo que se refiere al gas, en España el precio medio por gigajulio se sitúa en 15 euros, pero si se tiene en cuenta el poder adquisitivo el precio real asciende a 16,24 euros, por encima de 15,88 de promedio en la Unión Europea.
No obstante, las tarifas de gas para los hogares españoles subieron sólo un 0,8% entre el segundo semestre de 2009 y el segundo semestre de 2010, frente al 7,7% en el conjunto de la Unión Europea. Asimismo, cayeron un 18% entre el segundo semestre de 2008 y el segundo semestre de 2009 (más que la media comunitaria del 15,5%).
En cuanto a los países en los que más subió el recibo del gas que pagan los consumidores domésticos son Italia (+47%), Eslovenia (+25%) y Bulgaria (+24%). Las principales bajadas de precio fueron registradas en Eslovaquia y Reino Unido (-6% en ambos países) e Irlanda (-4%).
Por su parte, los Estados miembros con tarifas de gas más caras para los hogares son Suecia (30,3 euros por gigajulio), Dinamarca (30,1), Italia (21,9) y Países Bajos (19,8), mientras que los países más baratos son Rumanía (7,7), Estonia (11,1), Letonia (11,3) y Reino Unido (11,7).
