Asimismo, Iberdrola advirtió de que «Iberdrola Generación» no podrá incrementar su factura hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2011, algo que la UCE afirmó que es «falso», ya que si en la próxima subasta de energía eléctrica, que se celebrará el 21 de junio, sube la tarifa de acceso, automáticamente subirá la tarifa que se le cobra a los clientes que tengan contratado con «Iberdrola Generación» su suministro.
Otra de las afirmaciones de Iberdrola que la UCE rechazó es que la renovación gratuita del contrato de la compañía debe ser realizada antes del 30 de junio de 2011, de lo contrario, la renovación después de esta fecha se hará de manera automática, con lo que esto puede conllevar un coste adicional en su factura como penalización por el retraso que aún no está estipulado.
La UCE advirtió de que si el consumidor tiene contratado su suministro con una Comercializadora de Último Recurso (CUR), no tiene que renovar ningún contrato y, por tanto, no se le cobrará penalización o coste adicional alguno por no hacerlo.
La campaña de Iberdrola anunció también que para llevar a cabo esta renovación sólo se necesita presentar una de las facturas que la compañía envía al domicilio del cliente y firmar el consentimiento.
En realidad, no es una renovación del contrato de último recurso, sino un cambio del mercado regulado al mercado libre, o lo que es lo mismo, un cambio de compañía, lo que conllevaría en muchos casos a perder el «bono social», para aquellos consumidores que se estén beneficiando de él.
