Aunque avisó de que «a lo largo de los próximos años lo normal es que los precios de la luz vayan al alza, porque tendremos que resolver el déficit tarifario acumulado, que es de 24.000 millones de euros», sostuvo que habrá que «buscar un mix» para que ni los consumidores ni las compañías ni las empresas soporten ese déficit «en exclusiva».
Preguntado por si los consumidores se tienen que acostumbrar a pagar más cara la luz, el ministro indicó que no, aunque acto seguido añadió que «tendremos que habituarnos a que en el recibo de la luz va a ir una parte del déficit tarifario que se ha ido generando en los últimos siete años».
Asimismo, aseguró confiar en que el conjunto de medidas para sentar las bases para limitar el crecimiento del déficit tarifario y empezar a reducirlo se inicien en 2012.
