Sánchez Galán alertó de los problemas futuros que pueden surgir si los «errores» que se produjeron en la fotovoltaica se repiten en la termosolar, cuyo «despliegue masivo carece de toda justificación, tanto energética, como económica y medioambiental».

Desde Iberdrola sostuvieron además que si se cumplen los planes previstos por el Ministerio de Industria para construir hasta 2013 cerca de 40 plantas termosolares y alcanzar así los 2.500 megavatios (MW) instalados, el coste será de 2.000 millones anuales (100 euros por cliente al año). Una cifra que se cargaría directamente en la tarifa.

«En 2010 la cantidad para primas solares fue un 45% superior a la de la eólica, mientras produjeron seis veces menos energía», indicó. En este sentido, Sanchez Galán señaló que frente al desarrollo y madurez de la eólica, las plantas solares son la principal causa del déficit tarifario, porque cada consumidor español pagó en 2010 unos 250 euros en primas al Régimen Especial debido al auge de esta tecnología.

El presidente de la eléctrica también abogó por dedicar los ingresos obtenidos con las subastas de CO2 a reducir el déficit de tarifa o trasladar algunos costes de la tarifa como los extrapeninsulares a los Presupuestos Generales del Estado (PGE). Los sobrecostes del carbón, que son una «cuestión social», también deberían salir de la tarifa, dijo.

Por otro lado, José Sáinz Armada, director económico y financiero de Iberdrola, mostró su confianza en que «en las próximas semanas» se realicen nuevas emisiones del déficit de tarifa en los mercados, al igual que emisiones de bonos. La eléctrica indicó que el FADE tenía pensado realizar esta semana una de estas emisiones y que el nuevo mecanismo de colocaciones privadas de la deuda del sector tiene las mismas garantías que las titulizaciones en los mercados.
