Alberto Lafuente quiere una CNE que esté a la altura de las peticiones de Gobierno, empresas y sociedad
«Mucho nos van a pedir las empresas, el Gobierno y la sociedad, y esperamos estar a la altura del desempeño», afirmó Lafuente, en presencia de la presidenta saliente del regulador, María Teresa Costa, y del ministro de Industria, Turismo y Comercio, Miguel Sebsatián.
Lafuente tomó posesión de su cargo junto a otros cuatro consejeros, que se sumarán a los ya designados Tomás Gómez e Idoia Zenarruzabeitia, nombrados el pasado mes de mayo, y conformarán un nuevo órgano rector del regulador de siete miembros, frente a los nueve con los que contaba antes de la aprobación de la Ley de Economía Sostenible (LES).
En su discurso, Lafuente agradeció la confianza del Gobierno en su designación y el trabajo realizado por los anteriores presidentes del regulador, que son Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez, Pedro Meroño y Costa. «El organismo disfruta hoy de prestigio en España y fuera de España», afirmó.
El nuevo presidente de la CNE destacó además la mayor «competencia y responsabilidad» de la que goza el organismo con la nueva LES, así como la profesionalidad de sus trabajadores.
Al mismo tiempo, Lafuente apeló al nuevo «estilo» que desea imprimir en su gestión, a través de informes y propuestas y en los que deben prevalecer el «sentido común» y el «esfuerzo técnico».
Tras la promesa de los nuevos cargos, la presidenta saliente ofreció un discurso de despedida en el que aludió al «honor» de «servir a los intereses generales de la nación» y a la «tarea apasionante» de presidir el regulador energético durante seis años.
Asimismo, defendió su legado al frente de la CNE y los «profundos cambios» en el sector en los últimos años, entre ellos los relacionados con el proceso de liberalización con una estructura de mercado «más competitiva», la integración de reguladores y la implantación de «instrumentos de supervisión y protección de los consumidores», en los que «todavía hay camino que recorrer».
Junto a esto, destacó la valía profesional de la hasta ahora secretaria del consejo, Marina Serrano, y el director de relaciones institucionales, Joan Batalla, que se incorporan como consejeros de la CNE. A ambos aludió con adjetivos como los de «incansables, preparados y brillantes». Los otros dos nuevos consejeros son Josep Maria Guinart y Teresa Baquedano.
Por su parte, Sebastián dijo esperar una «nueva etapa» de la CNE en la que el regulador «continúe siendo eficaz y transparente», y aproveche la «elevadísima cualificación» de los nuevos vocales, al tiempo que destacó la labor de Baquedano en el Ministerio de Industria, que sufre «una dolorosa pérdida». También destacó la categoría profesional y personal de Lafuente, y agradeció el trabajo realizado por la presidenta y los consejeros salientes.
El ministro de Industria, que acudió al acto sin corbata, dijo estar seguro de que ello contribuirá a reducir la dependencia energética y a mejorar la competitividad de la economía española.
Lafuente y los nuevos vocales prometieron su cargo en presencia de algunas de las personalidades más destacadas del sector energético, entre ellas el presidente de Repsol YPF, Antonio Brufau; el de Endesa, Borja Prado y su consejero delegado, Andrea Brentan; el de Gas Natural Fenosa, Salvador Gabarró, y el consejero delegado de este grupo, Rafael Villaseca.
También acudieron el presidente de CLH, José Luis López de Silanes; el presidente de BP España, Afredo Barrios; el presidente de Unesa, Eduardo Montes; el consejero delegado de HC Energía, Joao Manso y el presidente de OMEL, Pedro Mejía, así como altos directivos de empresas como Iberdrola, Enagás, Cepsa, Gamesa, EDP o REE.
De las asociaciones sectoriales, acudieron entre otros los máximos responsables de los operadores petrolíferos de AOP (Álvaro Mazarrasa), de los productores de renovables de APPA (José María González Vélez), de los eólicos de la AEE (José Donoso), de los cogeneradores de ACOGEN (Javier Rodríguez), de los fotovoltaicos de la AEF (Juan Laso) y de los operadores de butano de la AOGLP (José Luis Blanco).
