«Hay un elevado peso de las tecnologías renovables que yo creo que también habrá que analizar. Habrá seguramente posibilidades, no inmediatamente pero sí por los avances tecnológicos, de que algunas tecnologías puedan, a través de mecanismos de concurrencia, aligerar bastante las primas«, afirmó Carbajo.
Carbajo y Lafuente hicieron estas declaraciones durante una jornada organizada por el diario El Economista, la Universidad Politécnica de Madrid y la Asociación de Empresas con Gran Consumo de Energía (AEGE). Durante este evento, algunas compañías que forman parte de la organización se quejaron del coste de la electricidad en España, en comparación con otros países europeos.
Lafuente matizó que la solución al problema de competitividad de las empresas en materia energética «no pasa sólo por la reducción de los costes regulados» sino que son necesarios «esfuerzos» sobre eficiencia por parte de las compañías.
Por otro lado, el director general de Industria y PYME, Manuel Valle, adelantó que acudirá a una reunión con la Dirección General de Energía para transmitir las «grandes preocupaciones» que tienen sobre este tema las empresas con grandes consumos energéticos, entre las que mencionó a Alcoa y a Arcelor Mittal.
